From the Editor

A question I’ve been asked a lot lately is, “What are you doing this summer?” First of all, I’m still in a bit of shock that summer has not only arrived, but we’re in the height of it (in more ways than one with the current heat wave). Secondly, when I stop to think about it, I realize that the joys of summer are found in the everyday moments: the mundane made magical, the feeling of the warm sun, the long days, and the embrace of soft sand beneath the soles of the feet.

Whether or not our summer includes a major vacation, a trip requiring planning, or a multitude of spontaneous moments, the opportunity for allowing this season to be our mid-year retreat and renewal is a powerful practice.

I reflect on this after recently returning from Wanderlust Squaw Valley. I had the opportunity to hike the mountains at sunset, be serenaded in meditation by the Garth Stevenson, practice yoga in a variety of settings, and for the first time, to dive into the clear waters of Lake Tahoe. As I was embraced by sun and smiles, the weekend provided inspiration for my own practice reminding me of my daily connection to the mat and the breath.

This is what all retreats do for us, whether the time frame is 60-90 minutes in the studio, a day-long event, or a weekend festival. Whatever your plans, make sure to play, to renew, and to take a deep breath.

Summer lovin’,
Felicia

Animals in Need: Meet Dizzle

DizzleBig Boy Dizzle weighs about 80 lbs. and is approximately 3-years old. He is a Staffordshire terrier Mix who was born deaf (as many white dogs and cats are-it’s a genetic mutation that sometimes accompanies the white coloring) and had a rough start in life, but we are so lucky to have him and he is a sweetheart.

He gets spooked by bikes and skateboards, and we are working on that with him, but he loves most other dogs, loves people, and is a giant cuddle bug. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready for a foster home or permanent home with the right person.

Please contact info@muchlove.org if you are interested in meeting Dizzle or any of our adoptable dogs and cats.
